Digging Higher

In pushing myself beyond my physical comfort level, by working that sweat and bringing out the endorphins, I find that I now possess an increased sense of well being and of being blessed.

There is no question in my mind about the link between karate’s physical growth and spiritual growth. The search for that internal source of energy (as when Sensei demands that we "dig deeper") has brought me to a place where I also seek that energy by "digging higher."

The efforts required in training karate, the camaraderie developed with the other deshi, the discipline required at times to "just show up" to train, has brought me to a higher spirituality in addition to the physical presence of confidence and ability, that affects my day-to-day life and relationships.
