Downblock Directing the Fist
There is a common error when performing the down block.
The error occurs when winding the lower arm too far around
the body
the wrist instead of the fist will be hit by oncoming kick.
This is the error with the arm winding too far around the
body:
Notice the wrist will take the hit from the
approaching kick.
Here is the correct position of the fist:
Here the knuckles are facing toward the opponents kick.
The
fist will protect the ribs and the wrist is not exposed.
Use
the mirror to check this.
