Some upper body principles
1.The elbow must travel, to apply the force initially generated
by the lower body. Because, if the elbow remains either
still or incorrectly hinges to the side without
travelling (see graphic below), then no lower body force
can be applied to the arm technique.
2. The forearm rotates during every arm technique
(Both elbow travel and forearm rotation can add acceleration
to the force initially generated by the lower body.)
3. Therefore, the force of an arm technique is the amount of body mass applied, multiplied by the speed of a) hip movement, b) elbow travel, and c) forearm rotation
