Onegai-shimasu Ueshiro SRKUSA,
The following Thought/Technique for the Week (TFTW) is submitted on behalf of Sensei Shlomo Dadon of Eilat Israel.
All
our kata[s] begin with a defense.
How do we execute a quick defense???
Via a combination of feet, legs, hips, body, arms, hands,
and head.
The feet and legs move first to a gripping position of the
ground.
The source for the quick turn (into the defensive movement)
are the feet, legs, body and hips that also generate speed,
strength, and power.
The head moves together with the body and hands to execute
the appropriate and quick defense; and we must not forget
the stare with the eyes all the time towards the opponent,
because the eyes are the source of our strength even without
doing battle!!!
