Chokuritsu-fudo-dachi (Formal Attention Stance)
Commonly known as the Yoi or ready position for the
Fukyugata 1, 2 and 3.

notes:
Make a "big" appearance with the posture ( warrior type spirited
attitude).
Hands position and placement (the hands are displayed at a certain angle,
in a shuto hand position, not pointing straight down, not touching the
gi.)
Arms are slightly bent.
Toes point outward a certain angle.
Wrist are straight and in view, ankles should also be exposed.
Tense the stomach muscles, chest out, stand tall/erect.
Attitude..mental and physical is everything for this posture, as with all
postures
and techniques of the kata.
