K Y O S H I ' S The wrist and ankle. The wrist and ankle act as shock absorbers as the weapon makes impact on it's target. The wrist also carries (supports) the hand (weapon) to the target. It is important that the weapon(s) remain focused (directed) throughout the movement. A common error is a bent wrist, the hand hangs limply and/or a weak, untensed ankle which causes the foot to dangle ineffectively. This principal is especially realized upon impact of the technique. Maintaining proper alignment in all techniques, blocks and strikes is imperative. Arigato, Kyoshi Robert Scaglione. |
