Letting It Happen
"Letting
it happen" is a common concept in arts and sports. This interprets to building a
trust in the innate abilitity of your body to perform. We are like the accomplished
basketball player who has practiced diligently to develop every detail of his skill. Yet
in playing the game he cannot focus on control, he must let himself go. It is in letting
go that he rises to the highest level of performance. The key to this concept is
"building a trust", "practice diligently", "develop the
skill", then it is very simple to "let it happen". Without first learning
and training in an art, without being in the process of becoming "accomplished",
it would be a foolish action to "let it happen" in a moment of crisis.
Ironically it would be a senseless non-action to do nothing in a life or death situation.
Be prepared, keep training (persist), then (and) just do it. Arigato, Kyoshi
